Moonshiners Reunion Festival in Campobello, SC


This annual celebration of the moonshining days of the 30’s and 40’s starts Thursday October 2nd and runs through Saturday, October 4th. The inspiration for this festival is local musician Barney Barnwell who was inspired to write a number of songs based the stories he was told. He was also instrumental in getting South Carolina Educational Television to make a documentary about the moonshining days of the South Carolina foothills. You’ll also find authentic Southern Heritage vendors selling hand-made brooms, soap, wood-carvings, etc.

Georgia Apple Festival in Ellijay, GA


Gilmer county, Georgia produces more apples than anywhere else in the state so it’s fitting that Ellijay, in Gilmer county, hold the annual apple festival. Representing 11 different orchards and 300 local vendors selling everything from hand blown glass to distressed furniture to hats and hammocks you’re sure to find something you’ve always wanted. There is a vintage car show, a parade and an Apple Pageant as well. The Festival runs the throughout the 3rd and 4th weekends in October.

Harvest Festival on False River in New Roads, LA

This is the 4th year for the Harvest Festival on False River and it’s grown every year since its inception. Not only will there be a fireworks show the Friday it begins, October 17th, but there will also be a number of great bands throughout the weekend as well as tons of delicious food. Oh, and there’s a pageant as well. The Festival ends on Sunday October 19th.

Wilmington River Fest in Wilmington, NC


Fueled with a passion to bring back their downtown, organizers on a slim budget put together a festival in downtown Wilmington, NC in an effort to bring folks away from the malls and it was a huge success. Today there are over 200 craft vendors, 35 concession stands, 300 volunteers, bands, entertainment, a Run the River 8k, a fireworks show and over 100,000 attendants annually. It starts tomorrow October 3rd and runs through Sunday.

Foothills Fall Festival in Maryville, TN



Not only does this fall festival in the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains have Tim McGraw and Pat Benetar as 2 of its long list of musical acts, it also has an Art Way with tons of artists and crafts vendors, countless food concession stands, an Adventure Land with everything to keep you and the family entertained from a rock climbing wall to Twiggy the Water Skiing Squirrel. The Festival kicks off Friday October 17th and ends that Sunday night.

Boaz Harvest Festival in Boaz, AL



This year will be the 50th year in a row for the Boaz Harvest Festival. Boaz is primarily known for its clothing outlets, but at this time of the year it will know for over 400 vendors as well as a Harvest Midnight 5k and 1 mile Fun, a Moon-Pie eating contest, a chili cook-off, an antique car show and also the Miss Harvest Festival Pageant Saturday morning. Everything kicks off tomorrow October 3rd and ends Saturday.
